Since 1995, the International Coach Federation (ICF) has become a globally recognized organization focused on advancing the coaching profession by establishing and administering a set of standards for credentialing professional coaches. There are three ICF Credentials and three processes for obtaining an ICF credential, as shown below.

Note: Each credential requires a specific set of required hours of coach-specific training, mentor coaching, and coaching experience.

Associate Certified Coach (ACC) ACTP: individuals have completed an ICF Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP).
Professional Certified Coach (PCC) Portfolio: individuals have not completed an ACTP or have completed coach training through programs not on the ACTP list
Master Certified Coach (MCC) MCC application: specific to  MCC credential
